Gus Hansen - October 2008

marky on October 30th, 2008

Gus Hansesn October 2008 earnings as of today (October 20) have reached over $3.2 Million!!  That is increidble!  We all know Gus Hansen is one of the worlds top poker players, but to be causing that much terror in the big money rooms at Full Tilt Poker is simply amazing.

Last Monday night Gus won over half a million dollars at Texas Hold ‘em.  And also cashed in over $100 000 in both PLO and Omaha Hi/Lo.  Not to mention more wins in a HORSE game.  It’s really amazing to just sit back and realize how good Gus Hansen really is.  Some people say he’s the luckiest man in the world, which may be true sometimes, but he is also one of the most skilled poker players who has ever lived!

Gus Hansen Teaches How To Trap

marky on October 23rd, 2008

This video is pretty funny, which most Gus Hansen videos are, because it’s from the show FullTiltPoker.Net Presents Learn from the Pros where you get to learn how to play poker by your favorite poker players. This show is always a good, interesting, entertaining watch.

Anyways, it’s funny because the question is “How To Trap” while playing poker and I just love what Gus Hansen has to say…

Million Dollar Poker

marky on October 22nd, 2008

What is the best poker game you can get on your mobile phone today? For those that know, the answer is obvious… MILLION DOLLAR POKER featuring GUS HANSEN! This is the only poker game for mobile phones with the latest technology in a new generation of Artifical Intelligence. What that basically means is a super realistic, human like playing style!

This is what happenes when game designers sit down with one of the best poker players in the world. The result, and awesome game for everyone to enjoy. Some of the awesome new features include TV Like effects. Such as a TV host, TV Camera View and new sweet locations!

Also there are 3 modes to choose from: Exhibition, Career and Heads-up. Career mode is interesting because you can participate in a bunch of different tournaments to win enough money to gain access to fancy poker events and stuff.

I’ll telling you this game is the closest thing to actually playing Gus Hansen next to actually sitting down at a table with him at FULL TILT POKER!

And rumour has it that if you go to THIS SITE and you scroll down to number 4 you can download this game for free… but don’t quote me on that as I have not tried it myself. I chose to buy the game from my cell phone… but it’s worth it!

Gus Hansens October on Full Tilt (So Far)

marky on October 21st, 2008

According to HighStakesDB.com Gus Hansen has added an amazing $1.92 Million to his bankroll over the first 18 days of October. Gus is known for his huge bankroll swings when it comes to his online games, and it is very clear that this is his month for a huge upswing. WOW!

A lot of Hansens’s huge profit gains this month are from the high stakes Omaha Hi/Lo games on Full Titlt Poker. And by “A Lot” I mean over 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS!

Gus Hansen on Bluffing

marky on October 14th, 2008

I found an awesome story online where Gus Hansen tells us about one of his favorite bluffs of all time and being the awesome guy that I am I figured I’d share it with all of you, enjoy!

“A lot of times, the great bluff doesn’t depend so much on your own hand, but more on what read you put on your opponent, sometimes in combination with the board. One of the ones I remember the best, probably because I’ve seen it played over and over again on TV, was at the WPT L.A. Poker Classic in 2003, against Andy Bloch. I had a 4-2 offsuit, and by the turn it was clear that I had no chance of winning. So I tried to bluff on the turn, he called, it was a semi-scary board, and I felt he had some kind of a hand but was not too happy about it. And a real scary card came on the river, making four to a straight. I felt he was on the second or third pair and he just didn’t want to see that straight card come out there. He checked, and I bet on the river and took down the pot with four-high. And that’s what a bluff is all about. It’s not just blindly throwing a lot of money out there, but really analyzing the situation.”

The Online Poker Weekend Report

marky on October 13th, 2008

I’m not sure how often I will actually post a weekend report, but I’ll start now and we’ll see where it takes us. Tom Dwan was the biggest winner of the weekend as far as onling poker goes. Tom (or “Durrr” as he is known in the online poker community) raked in over half a million dollars to put an end to his recent losing streak.

And Gus Hansen, the Great Dane himself, had an awesome weekend pulling in over $537000!!! WOW! Then again, it should be no surprise that these guys won so much, they are universally known as 2 of the best online poker players today and are among the largest grossing online players of all time!

And if you’d like to play Gus Hansen and perhaps win a few hundred thousand dollars yourself all you gotta do it sing up now at Full Tilt Poker. You don’t need a ton of money to join, just start small in the dollar or 2 rooms and build up a bank roll… and then take your shot at some of your favorite players! What’s the worst that can happen? You might have fun or win enough money to not worry about the economy like the rest of the world?! It’s only a click away…

Gus Hansen not only made it to the final table of The Aussie Millions Main Event in 2007, but he won the whole thing taking home One Million Dollars!! You can read all about it in his book “Every Hand Revealed” but I’ll save my review of that novel for another day.

Today I bring you how it all went down at that final hand… how exactly did he take out Jimmy Fricke? Well, pocket Aces helps :)

marky on October 11th, 2008

Poker Afer Dark, Season 2, Week 5, “WPT All-Stars”. This is the setting for the next video I bring to you. Now, we all know that Howard Legerer ended up winning this game when the week was over, but Gus Hansen definetly gets bonus points for being the best comedian at the table.

So it’s Full House vs Full House and everyone discussed what should have been done and what they would have done and so on… and Gus steps in with his two cents and it is a moment to remember.

Many of the participants can be found playing poker online at Full Title Poker. Sign up today and take on some of your poker favorties!!

Gus Hansen vs Jeff Madsen

marky on October 10th, 2008

Here we see a hand during the Aussie Millions between Gus Hansen and Jeff Madsen. For those that want a little bit of a background on Jeff, allow me to fill you in. Jeff Madsen was born on June 7, 1985 in Santa Monica, California. And, you guessed it, he plays at Full Tilt Poker! He’s also the youngest bracelet winner (and 2 time bracelet winner) is World Series of Poker history!

Anyways, on with the video. All I can say is just watch because this is some sick stuff.

World Poker Tour - Season One

marky on October 6th, 2008

The World Poker Tour (or WPT as it is also known) is a bunch of poker tournaments that features a lot of the worlds best professional poker players. It is essentially a collection of Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournaments and the television show, which debuted in 2002, is one of the causes for the poker boom over the last 8 years.

The tournaments are open to anyone who wants to buy in, or to those who can win a spot. Here I will go through the tournaments where Gus Hansen has appeared in the final table.

Season One

The first event was called “Five Diamond World Poker Classic”. It was a 5 day event that went from May 27 2002 to June 1 2002. The total number of people who entered this event was 146. Gus Hansen actually won the 1st place prize of $556,460. The 5 runners up were John Juanda, Freddy Deeb, John Hennigan, Chris Bigler and Scotty Nguyen.

The next time Gus Hansen made it to a WPT final table was during a 4 day event which ran from February 21 2003 to February 24 2003 and was titled “LA Poker Classic”. There were 135 entries to this game and again Gus Hansen was the winner. His first place prize this time was $532,490. The 5 runners up were Daniel Rentzer, Andy Bloch, David Pham, Steven Shkolnik and Bob Stupak.

Please check back to Gus Hansen Online shortly to see WPT Season 2 results featuring Gus Hansen. And if you would like to play Gus Hansen online you can at Full Title Poker.
